Originally a poet employed in editing and writing for a Washington, D.C. consulting firm, I decided to study architecture after becoming interested in energy conservation and renewable energy in the early eighties.
I enjoyed thinking about how a building could respond to its environment (natural or man-made) and engage with both its climate and context. I was also moved by the possibilities for combining utility and joy. Designing a building and seeing it built is an essentially creative and hopeful act with largely positive effects and I wanted to play a part in making the world a better place.
I've been an architect for nearly twenty years now and bring the same hope and desire to each new project. Let's make some positive change together.
